Why the Pink?
I choose pink in honor of breast cancer awareness. Not only is this disease one that strikes with out much warning but its something that we all need to be aware of.
I myself have been through quite a roller coaster of a year....in June my Dr. made me go for an ultra sound on my thyroid where it was found that I had multiple cysts/nodules on it. I went through testing that came back as indeterminable and in turn ended up having half of my thyroid removed. When the pathology came back after the surgery it was noted that I had a 2/3 mm spot of what is known as papillary thyroid cancer. Though that does not mean that the side remaining in my body is cancerous nor does it mean it is not.
I have begun a journey in my life that I hope I will be able to remain on indefinitely. That journey is one to better health. I have recently joined a team in training that is specifically for women whose lives have been affected by this nasty invader known as cancer. I am currently in training to run/walk my first 8k race in March. I hope to not only run/walk this race but to do as many as I can in the next year and the years to come. I will post as much as I can telling you all about this journey and sharing the photos along the way.......

My trip this summer....
The explaination to the picture of me in Brasilia......
I traveled there this past summer to attended a friends wedding that I meet when I lived there 14 years ago. As I approached my destination I could feel my heart begin to beat fast and the lights of the city it felt like I was returning home. Things had of course changed the way they always do but so much was still the same. It was as a beautiful as I had remembered it the last time I was there.
Its hard to describe the beauty that is Brasil. The beauty is in every corner that you look from the Amazon Rain Forest, to the Iguacu Falls, the Plateau and Rio de Janeiro. The natural beauty mixed with the city is unreal...especially when you are flying over the Amazon into the city of Manaus. All you see is a vast sea of green and then an explosion of city buildings. The beauty that is Brasil has to be experienced at least once in your life.

why do they do what they do?
When people from your past just show up outta the blue there is always more to what brought them to your door step than they say. Be it conscience or subconsience there is something more than what they claim. For example they come to apologize for all the crappy things they did and hurting you the way they did...but then they ask if you are seeing anyone. So what gives are you here to apologize or to see if there is a possible new future? I say to see if there is a possible new future...what do you all think?
